1966 Lamborghini 400 GT

When Ferruccio Lamborghini moved from tractors to cars, he decided to make a car better than any Ferrari. His biggest problem with the Ferrari models was the lack of quality. So, with the best team possible - made of people like Gian Paolo Dallara and Gitto Bizzarrini - he started to design cars. After he revealed his first prototype the 350 GTV at the Turin Auto Show, he moved onto production models. The first one was called 350 GT, a model powered by a V12 engine that delivered 270 hp. Lamborghini made a total of 120 units.

The 350 GT then evolved into the 400 GT - a a 2+2-seated sports car revealed at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show. The 400 GT was also created by Carrozzeria Touring, but its interior was restyled, made roomier and so we have the 400 GT 2+2 four seater.
The 400 GT entered production in 1966 and was offered with either the 3.5-liter (known as 400 GT 2+2) or four-liter V12 engine (known as 400GT). The last one was built in only 23 units and are known as the ’Interim’ cars. The V12 engine delivered 320 hp and helped the car to hit a top speed of 270 km/h (167mph).

Lamborghini gallardo LP560-4 polizia

Lamborghini has presented the Italian State Police with this “Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia” – a one-off fully liveried supercar.
The LP560-4 Polizia is replacing the force’s standard Gallardo which is going into retirement after four years and 87,000 miles of patrolling the nation’s autostradas.
Under the hood of the LP560-5 remains the 5.2-litre V10 engine which develops 560bhp and enables a top speed of 203mph.

But Lamborghini has customised the interior to give it many of the capabilities of a standard police car, fitting the following:

A Proof Video Data System which calculates the speed of the car being pursued
A specialised fridge for transporting donor organs
A defibrillator used to restore a normal heart rhythm to patients by delivering an electrical shock
Number plate recognition tool
Police radio
Gun holster

1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV

Lamborghini 350 GTV was the first prototype unveiled by Lamborghini in 1963. It previewed the first production model: the 350 GT.

It was unveiled at the 1963 Turin Auto Show and if we consider that Lamborghini was a tractor manufacturer since that moment we can imagine that the 350 GTV stirred much attention.

The interior was leather while the finish was a bright metallic blue color. The engine was not installed in the car because it would not fit. The vertical carburetors were too large and did not fit under the hood. Only recently has the vehicle been restored and the chassis was altered to allow room for the engine.

It was powered by a V12 engine that delivers 360 hp at 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 240 lbs-ft at 6000 rpm. The top speed was an impressiv 174 mph.
